Mother's Day Weekend

It had only been a month since moving to Portland but I missed "home" already. I don't care how old I get or how long I've been out of the house, my family will still consider my parent's house, my home. My parents and sister still call the house in Bonney Lake my "home," as in "hey, when are you coming home for Mother's Day." Well, I did come home the Thurs before Mother's Day. I had already been sick with the cold for 4 days but felt like i was getting better. But once I got home to BL, I had a relapse and have been in bed ever since. The total # of days sick : TEN!! Yesterday, I finally went to the walk in clinic, even though I don't have medical insurance. One of the sacrifices of being self employeed. I laid down a chunk of change and found out that I have BRONCHITIS! So, now I'm on antibiotics and on my way back to health.

So, Mother's Day wasn't very eventful. Last year, we had a great time at a fabulous restaurant in Seattle. We tried to get reservations again this year, but we were literally the 100th people on the waiting list. I can't believe keep people on such long waiting lists, what's crazier is that people wanted to be on that list.

My mom's been patiently waiting for Mother's Day to let us know what she wanted as a gift. This is how our family is. We just tell each other what we want for gitfs instead of trying to find that perfect thing that would surprise them with wonder and awe at the astuteness of the gift. Well, my mom wants a Treadmill. As if it weren't enough that she goes to the gym 3 or 4 times a week to swim for an hour, now she wants to start running on a treadmill. I guess, it's good that she wants to keep in shape. My sister and I will have to go to Sears and get one for her this week.

Well, that's my Mother's Day weekend.
