When I meet new people here in Portland, one of the questions that inevitably comes up is, "What do you do?" It's been hard for me to answer this question lately. I answer it differently based on how I'm feeling that day. Answers vary from, I'm an internet entrepreneur, I own an online business, I'm in transition, I'm unemployeed, I'm a former missionary, (and when I feel vulnerable) I am in a midlife crisis. :) All of those are true of me currently. I've come to the realization that although I love the challenge of running an online business, I find that it's very difficult for me to work alone. It's not the lifestyle that fits my personality. I've done a few things to help with this. Last few months, I worked a temp job at NW Natural Gas to get out of the house and work with others. I meet with a friend from church twice a week at a coffee shop so I get out of the house and have some interaction. And I'm looking for a fulltime job. I still don't really know what I want to do when I grow up :) but I do know that I'd like to get back working with people. I am looking for a job in Human Resources. If anyone of you out there have any leads for me in Portland, I'd appreciate it. :) Thanks!
