If you're on Facebook, you know that one of the fun things about it is that you can watch a friend's relationship status change. You can be nosy about other people's personal lives without having to ask. It's been said that you're not really dating unless your Facebook status confirms it. Teenage boys are known to avoid conflict by breaking up with their girlfriends by changing their status to "single". :)
Anyway, it was fun to read that 3 friends I knew from Orlando got engage recently. I am so happy for all of them because it's so fun to see people you love find happiness through finding their mates. I was especially happy to get a message from Mike announcing his engagement. We have been friends for a long time, giving each other relationship advice and walking through relationships along side each other. He was such a good friend to me during my emotional ups and downs. I fully took advantage of the fact that he was getting his counseling degree. Even when he went to live in Brazil for two years, we talked on the phone at times. Although relationships change over time and distance, it's good to look back fondly on a season of time when God used specific people in my life to help me grow.
